Sadly the Vulcan has had to pull out at the last minute with major technical issues which will prevent it displaying for the next two weeks - pity but, as the aircraft is over 50 years old with a large amount of flying hours it is to be expected that these things will happen. Lets just hope that the weather holds out for everyone.

Just seen the news that Kevin has once again been able to secure the last flying Vulcan for the Airshow on Thursday 18th. I missed this wonderful aircraft in 2009 and I look forward to seeing it when I travel to Dawlish on the18th for my rest and respite from the rat race in London. Sad to hear that Jen is closing the Park Road shop. It is probably good business sense to locate to a premises on the Strand. Every time I visit Dawlish I stock up on sweets from Jen's. Jen is without doubt one of the jewel's in the crown of Dawlish, her uncanny knack of remembering faces of regular visitors like myself and my family make us feel welcome.

As a regular visitor to Dawlish (been visiting the town for annual family summer holiday since 1999) I have always enjoyed the carnival and the airshow. Any idea when the airshow is on this year?
