Entertainment Idol 2007

On Saturday 8th December the final of this year’s Entertainment Idol will take place at Golden Sands Holiday Park and this year’s theme is “Back to School 80’s reunion”. Entertainment Idol is a charity event that is held once a year in December and helps raise money for different charities in the area. This year’s nominated charities are CLIC Sargent [Registered Charity No: 1107328] & the Paediatric Oncology Fund [Registered Charity No: 1061384] at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.
And this year we would like to thank Warren Trading Co Dawlish Warren for agreeing to sponsor the event. Also we would like to thank The Teignmouth Inn, Brunswick Arms & The Ferret & Radiator for sponsoring the T-shirts and trophies.

For those of you who do not know what Entertainment Idol is about let us enlighten you? Entertainment Idol is not about how well you sing but how well you entertain the audience. This gives average karaoke singer a chance to perform on a big stage for one night only and without the pressure of winning a £1,000,000 contract as there are no monitory prizes only trophies and certificates. It’s all about everyone having a fun evening and raising money for charity.

Heats were held in October and there are 9 acts and 1 wild card who have qualified through to the final. The wild card entry is the Manager and some of his staff from Barclays Bank in Teignmouth, they agreed to help by entering and collecting sponsors and what ever they collect Barclays will match pound for pound up to the value of £750.00. If you would like to sponsor them please call into the Teignmouth branch of Barclays.

Also on the evening there are professional entertainers and a wonderfully funny comedian to entertain and no doubt some surprises along the way. There will also a prize raffle and a disco to end this fantastic evening of entertainment.
