The Full Monty - The Broadway Musical
When the steel mills of Buffalo, New York close down, a group of unemployed steelworkers find themselves struggling financially and questioning their worth. Jerry Lukowski is facing the loss of custody of his son Nathan due to unpaid child support. Desperate and out of options, Jerry hatches an outrageous plan after witnessing the success of a male strip show: he and his friends will put on their own performance—but they'll go one better and bare all, doing "The Full Monty." Jerry recruits his best friend Dave, who battles body image issues; their former boss Harold, who's been hiding his unemployment from his wife; the suicidal Malcolm; the older Horse; and the well-endowed Ethan. With the help of their feisty pianist Jeanette, this unlikely group of ordinary men begins the hilarious and touching journey from awkward amateurs to confident performers. As opening night approaches, the men must confront their fears, insecurities, and ideas about masculinity. More than just a story about stripping, The Full Monty is a heartwarming comedy about friendship, courage, and discovering that real strength comes from being brave enough to reveal your true self—physically and emotionally.
