Chandrayaan 2, India's second moon exploration mission, sent a rover to the moon's south pole, something had never been done there before. Including a rover, a lander, and an orbiter, the project was conceived by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). In August 2019, the mission, which had been launched in July 2019, reached lunar orbit.
