To activate the companion pass on Southwest Airlines, you must have the qualifying reward points, or you must have completed 100 one-way flights with the airline. After the activation of Southwest Companion Pass, you are allowed to provide the companion details without paying any charge, but you have to pay the taxes and fees. This pass also allows their frequent flyers to take a companion for free. The pass remains valid for the remainder of the year in which it’s earned and throughout the entire following calendar year.
