Completion of the £80m government-funded project means locals and visitors to Dawlish can enjoy the accessible high-level promenade all the way from Boat Cove to Coastguards footbridge, where it then joins the original sea wall. Stretching between coastguards and Colonnade breakwaters, it is linked to the first section at Marine Parade by a new footbridge which runs parallel to the railway viaduct.

It was a bit of an anti climax the opening.
It would have been nice if someone (our mayor for instance) had been there and had made a short speech and to thank the 'orange army' for all what they have done so that the gathered public could have shown their appreciation.
Talking of which, apart from Anne Marie Morris, where were the local dignitaries?
Probably thinking up some hair brained scheme and too busy to attend such an event!!!
