ON MARCH 19, 2020, minor injury units (MIU) in Dawlish and Totnes community hospitals closed
Minor injuries units can treat injuries that are not critical or life threatening, such as cuts, sprains and minor head injuries
However, many months later both Dawlish and Totnes MIUs remain closed. The same story is repeated in North Devon hospitals.
Maybe, just maybe, its something to do with staff shortages? Or maybe, perhaps, to having the NHS overstretched by the current pandemic so that staff are already at breaking poiint?
Or it's possible they are going to be centalised, say Land's End or John O'Groats to save a few quid.
