When toilets were constructed in a new building at Orchard Manor School in Dawlish in 2016, they were incorrectly connected directly to a surface water drainage system, instead of the public sewerage network.

The school has since closed the toilets and will reopen them when the issue has been rectified. It is understood that there was a blocked toilet issue at the school before Christmas.
