This week marks the anniversary of one of Devon's greatest unexplained mysteries - when deep snow fell overnight on February 8 1855 and locals awoke to find an unbroken line of footprints stretching nearly 100 miles across the county.
They were said to have covered an area of between 40 to 100 miles, from Exmouth to Topsham and across the Exe estaury, then on to Dawlish and Teignmouth, also taking in Totnes and Torquay
