A thug tried to bite a female police officer on the neck after threatening to stab her and calling her ‘a daft bitch’.

He had also been caught with half a pair of scissors hidden in his sock during an earlier violent confrontation with a group of men in Dawlish.

Mr Nigel Wraith, prosecuting, said police attended a disturbance near the Lansdowne Hotel in Park Road, Dawlish, shortly after midnight on September 28 last year in which Taylor was being confronted by a group of men who were shouting abuse at him.
