All CrossCountry services that use the main railway at Dawlish line have been suspended between 4.30pm and 9pm today (Friday, November 23).

The services will not operate due to forecast high winds, which can cause waves to go over the exposed sea wall at Dawlish.

Can you believe the news papers?

Train has just pulled into the station from N/A and it is 1915hrs

But was it a Cross country train? 

No GWR and there was several right up to the 2100hrs. If they can keep running, why can't cross country. Some of the trains are un-marked, so they may have been the cross country one's.

Because the Cross Country trains, the original Voyagers, break down when waves crash on the top of them! This doesn’t happen with the GWR trains or when CC run HST trains, which sadly isn’t very often! 

And the weather is going to be worse next week.
