The A379 between Dawlish and Teignmouth has been closed in Holcombe in both directions and motorists are being asked to avoid the area.

What's wrong with some people, they should be ashamed.
Perhaps an explaination as to why the road remained closed for seven hours may have helped. The two young female officers at the top of Dawlish hill Teignmouth and new road junction were less than polite to me and that was past 7.30pm. Good manners feeds both ways.

@FredBassett - a possible explanation for the the time scale may be down to the police believing the accident could end in loss of life. even if no one involved at the rtc was at the time the police arrived. a detailed investigation of the scene is required for assesment of the incident for a possible future arrest/court proceedings.
