A Warning from Teignmouth and Dawlish Neighbourhood Police
WARNING: There has just been an attempted car theft in Bishopsteignton at approximately 1200 hrs today.
A male and a female were stopped on the side of the road with a ‘baby’ in a car seat and appeared to be having a domestic incident. A caller stopped to check if everything was OK and noted that the child in the car seat was in fact a doll. Whilst the caller got out of his car, the male attempted to get into his car and drive off. Fortunately, the caller’s car was locked.
They couple subsequently left the area very quickly in a blue VW polo with a registration similar to W901 YNC. It appears they will target rural and secluded areas.
This is for caution if anybody notices a similar incident or whether they witnessed this. Please contact us on ‘101’ quoting log 252 of 05/02/2016.

Okay I suppose if you want to sit on your phone line racking up a charge for 20 to 40 min's or more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Checking the reg they show, I know they say 'similar to', but checking car parts websites that specific reg does not exist anyway. Would it not have been better to say what part of the number plate, if any, the person observed such as W~~~ ~NC - if you get my drift.
