Two women from Dawlish were rescued by an Exeter police helicopter yesterday after they became lost on the moors after dark.
A 60-year-old woman from Dawlish and her 61-year-old friend, who was visiting the area, reported after dusk that they had become lost on Dartmoor during a Sunday walk.
They admitted to police that neither were wearing suitable footwear or cold weather clothing when contacting them at around 6:15pm.
The pair could only give police details of where they had left their car in Postbridge as they remained on the phone.
