People have been evacuated from their homes in Devon and Cornwall as severe weather batters the counties.
Twenty people have been evacuated from Dawlish, where police have declared a major incident. In Kingsand the emergency services were urging people to leave their homes overnight because of the risk of flooding.
Six people chose to leave and emergency services checked about 50 properties.
There have also been reports of coastal flooding, including incidents in Looe.
Winds of up to 92mph (148km/h) were reported in the Isles of Scilly, while Devon and Cornwall Police received 300 emergency calls overnight.
'Danger to life'
Two people were rescued from a vehicle which was trapped in floodwater in Marine Parade, Dawlish, at about 21:20 GMT. Their conditions are unknown.
