AN elderly woman was pulled to safety by holidaymakers after being spotted face down in the Exe estuary near to Dawlish beach.

The rescuers were joined by three members of the Exmouth RNLI fast response craft which was carrying out a training exercise in the estuary.

Helmsman Chris Sims along with David Preece and Henry Mock, responded to the emergency and helped clear the beach for the arrival of the Devon Air Ambulance which had been alerted.

It arrived in two minutes and the woman was airlifted to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital Wonford.

Thats not very nice you will be old in time.  That could have been your mother or grandmother.  We should show respect to older people not be disrespectful.
