Assurances by Prime Minister David Cameron that the vulnerable railway line at Dawlish will get investment to ensure it is protected in the future.
MP Anne Marie Morris told Mr Cameron that traveller numbers on the coastal railway are growing fast and is also important to local tourism.
Urgent investment plans are in hand to repair recent flood damage and to create a long-term sustainable future for the railway line.
£1 million of improvements have been recently completed at Dawlish Station including repainting the viaduct and replacing the out of date and decaying footbridge.
