The unique charms of a Devon seaside town are set for a New Year revamp after close to £2 million in improvements were given the final go-ahead.
Dawlish is famous for its stunning coastal railway and a majestic lawn, bisected by a bubbling brook which is home to a flock of rare black swans.
But for many years the Victorian resort has struggled to cope with traffic and parking, making the two shopping streets that encircle its central green an unattractive prospect for shoppers.
