A MAJOR planning application to develop up to 350 homes on green fields at Dawlish has been refused.
Plans for land near Sainsbury's, south of Shutterton Lane, were refused by Teignbridge Planning Committee.
After a two-and-a-half-hour debate, chairman Cllr Humphrey Clemens, said it was one of the committee's most difficult decisions in a long time.
One of the main reasons for refusing permission was that it was not included in Teignbridge Council's Local Plan blue print for the next 20 years.
"Paul Jarvis, for developer Shutterton Park Ltd, said there was no strong opposition to the application."
er......the number of objections to or for a development proposal ain't a deciding factor. Bottom line it's planning policies that decide what gets built and what doesn't.
Which is why, even though I invariably add my fourpennyworth when it comes to major planning consultations and applications, the whole public consultation thingy is basically a waste of time and money.
