Tesco has lost its bid to build a store in Dawlish.
Government inspector Stuart Nixon today ruled out proposals for a Tesco out-of-town store, bringing to an end three years of store wars wrangling against its rival Sainsbury's.
He said: "Two stores would almost certainly damage the health of the town centre."
