Eighteen people in Devon have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, for work in education, sport, the arts and their communities.

Exeter University's vice-chancellor, Professor Steven Smith, has been knighted for services to education.

Michaela Breeze, from Ivybridge, has become an MBE for services to weightlifting.

Roderick Crook, from Dawlish, also becomes an MBE, for services to education and fostering in Devon.
