When he lived in Greater London many years ago, Graham Burchell was familiar with the expression, you wait ages for a bus and two come along together. He didn't figure that years later as an award winning poet and children's author living in Dawlish, he would be able to say the same about the publication of his poetry books. Two slim works, sometimes referred to as chap books have been published this month in the U.K. and in the U.S.A. "Ladies of Divided Twins" is published by Erbacce Press of Liverpool and "Vermeer's Corner" is published by Foothills Publishing in New York. Graham, a teacher for most of his working life before taking up writing fulltime, has lived on and off in Dawlish, Exminster and Exeter since 1983. He has also spent time in Tenerife, Mexico, France, Chile and the U.S.A during that period. He returned from almost four years in Houston, Texas last October, and has now settled back into Dawlish to look after his mother and to continue his writing. He is currently working on a new poetry book which he hopes to call 'The Book of Dawlish' which will chronicle his responses to readjusting to a new phase in his life back in Devon. More details about the books and the poet can be found on his website at www.gburchell.com.
