EXMOUTH is set to miss out on millions of pounds of potential business unless urgent plans are made to exploit the potential of the £7.2 million Exe estuary cycle route, a town transport group has warned.
Currently, there is no provision in East Devon District Council's Unlocking Exmouth plans to utilise the 14-mile estuary cycle way. This will open in 2008 and will run from Exmouth to Dawlish Warren via Exeter and is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of users every year.
