No record is safe, warned Dawlish SC coach Chris Chappell in his address after the club's annual championships
""Even the records set by our most-promising graduates, some real Olympic prospects, tumbled this year.
""Last year was a record year for records with 27, this year 30 were set.""
Paul Wilson had a great year with six outstanding records and a Devon & Western Counties Championship.
He picked up seven golds and two silvers on a night enjoyed by 97 competitors, ranging from under six to 40-plus, another record.
Chappell outlined a season of great successes in league, domestic, county, Western Counties and national events
Swimmer of the year went to re-elected ladies' captain, Cherry Shute, who won two Western Counties Championships, a Devon Championship and a Devon ""cap"".
Joining her as men's captain is James Hutchinson. Outstanding athlete award went to Clea Zeltmann. The Endeavour award went to Stephanie Evans. Most Improved boys' and girls' awards went to Joe Burridge, Harry Oliver, Kate Patterson and Lauren Wiseman.
The Hunt Cups for fastest learners were won by Thomas Hill and Amelia Hill. Devonport Trophies for open water swimmers were presented to Shute and Paul Wilson.
Prizes were presented by club president Joan Manning and Norman Storey, for 25 years club coach and still swimming every week with the Dawlish Masters.
Long-standing chairman Dave Townsend stood down at the meeting.
