I think Dorian's post was meant as a joke relating to Lynne saying: 'wonder how long it will be before this thread goes the way of the others? Sigh'. It has now been reported several times. It wasn't a particularly funny joke but ......Jeez peeps, lighten up!

Quick question: Are 'burneside' and 'Viaduct' one and the same person? They seem to have a similar outlook on life!

Congratulations Michael and Bob! I may not have agreed with your politics but you both did a bloody good job for this town. For that you both have my thanks. Huw

This is an interesting read. Who'd've thunk that the Labour Party was more to the right than the BNP!!!? http://www.politicalcompass.org/uk2015

UKIP will steal votes from both the Tories and LibDems which might just allow one of the others to sneak in to this constituency. I think it's as wide open down here as anywhere else this time.

Now then. I'm going to talk about decent levels of benefits (across the board) but I'm going to look at this in a different way. Points most of us agree on: 1. Only people requiring/needing benefits should get them. 2. Not enough money is going into the system to do that. But that has to be linked to how our system is paid for i.e. primarily National Insurance - and if not enough ...

If you want to vote on policies the Beeb have a fairly good section under 'BBC News' entitled 'Election 15'. It gives a fairly good precis of who wants to do what. Whether or not those 'policies' ever become 'practice' .... only time will tell!

@Willos If you're concerned about the number of swans why not start a fund where traders can donate to buy a couple every year (they're about £500 a pair). That would soon get the population up.

They certainly are. I wonder how many of our 'Voices for Dawlish' councillors elect will have the bottle (this time!) to declare their true allegiance. Some of them have done a good job but they have to lose the deception - particularly as their agent has just picked up a 'citizen award'!
