STUDENTS in Teignbridge completed a sponsored swim to raise money for their local lifeboat station. IT WAS a scheduled cup week in the South Devon and Torbay Table Tennis League, but with several cup matches unable to take place, there were only a handful of matches played this week. DAWLISH Hospital’s minor injuries unit is closed today. NHS bosses have announced the unit, which reopened last year, will be shut today. Anyone with an injury or condition that is urgent but not an emergency, is asked to visit the MIU at Totnes Community Hospital or the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Newton Abbot Community Hospital is also open. A "first class" Devon postmaster is celebrating after reaching an incredible milestone. Roger Honey has officially been at the helm of Exeter Road Post Office in Dawlish for 50 years. But he has been involved in the branch for even longer than that since it was bought by his family in October 1962, with mum Eileen acting as postmaster for the first 12 years. Read more... ...
