The newest addition to the Starcross to Exmouth Ferry and Dawlish Boat Trips fleet has been renamed. The owners of the Starcross to Exmouth Ferry and Dawlish Boat Trips acquired the new vessel last month after they l ost their boat, Princess Marina, to a devastating fire in November.

A programme of beautiful tunes has been chosen by director Nicholas Gardiner for Dawlish Choral Society’s spring concert on Thursday, April 10, at St Gregory’s Church. BUS passengers in Teignbridge are set to benefit from new changes to timetables. Dawlish and Newton Abbot and are among the areas to benefit from more frequent buses. However, several services have been withdrawn due to low demand.

An extensive search and rescue operation took place off Teignmouth last night (April 1st) following reports of a fully clothed man entering the water at Sprey Point, near Holcombe.

NON-TOXIC algae is responsible for a layer of unattractive ‘scum’ seen on the Brook in Dawlish. The algae has accumulated at the bottom end of the watercourse through the town by the Viaduct.

Dog owners must keep pets off certain Teignbridge beaches until September 30 as annual dog ban takes effect. Teignmouth, Shaldon, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren beaches will be dog free until 30 September.

BOAT Cove in Dawlish is due for a spring clean this Saturday. Environmental group Dawlish Against Plastic is organising its monthly beach cleans again. Saturday’s clean up will start at 4.30pm due to the tides.

Dawlish Marina Bowling Club has a new men’s captain, Marc Baker. Marc is the youngest Marina Captain the club has ever had. He has been playing bowls since he was 7 years old and is keen to encourage more young people to take up bowls as a hobby.
