ON SATURDAY, April 5, Dawlish Indoor Bowls Club’s men’s 2x4 team claimed victory in the final of the Devon County Charles Parrott (Unbadged) Competition, played at the Torbay Country Club Indoor Arena.

A woman was hit on the head by a stone which was thrown through an open train window in Devon over the weekend. On Saturday, April 5, at around 5pm, a woman travelling between Dawlish and Teignmouth was struck by the object that was hurled into the carriage.

A police operation in Dawlish and Teignmouth led to the discovery of illegal drugs in five out of seven pubs inspected, resulting in investigations into possession and supply offences. YOUNGSTERS at a Dawlish school have been learning about policing and art. The varied experiences were enjoyed by children from Orchard Manor School, a special school which provides education for children with communication and interaction needs, autism and learning needs.

Deaf students from Exmouth excel at Dawlish Gardens Trust, earning AQA certificates. A GARDEN charity in Dawlish welcomed deaf and disabled students for work experience. A group of deaf students with additional needs from Exmouth made great strides in their vocational training when they spent time at Dawlish Gardens Trust.

A Dawlish carpenter has been recognised for his ‘remarkable dedication to swifts’ and ‘wide reaching work’ after winning the Individual Inspiration Wild About Devon Award. Jerry Horn, who set up the Devon Swift Project, said he was ‘surprised’ by the award but was pleased that the project and the swifts had received acknowledgement.
