I'm not being contrary, but I've just been on the Flybe website and put in a random departure date of 1st Sept, returning a week later. Result is £79.99. Of which £39.67 is down to fuel surcharges, airport fees and charges, and government charges and duties.  Flybe themselves would only receive £40 from you for the round trip. That's not bad, surely?

Not necessarily true. Some great deals can be had for flights/holidays flying out of Exeter Airport and the departure/arrival times there are always at a civilised time of day. Unlike at Bristol, which also costs a load of petrol money to get to and sometimes the expense of an overnight stay for those ridiculously early flights. In my opinion.

Actually Clive, I use the trains every working day, hence my delight at not losing 3 minutes of my day this morning... Now if you were campaigning for additional coaches on the Riviera Line, then I'd support you to the hilt.

For those unaware, there are marching bands from all around the region who are participating in this Parade. As Carer quite rightly states, this is an event to look forward to.

The 07:50 from Dawlish to Exeter this morning departed on time (in fact, slightly early!). I'm not sure what to do with those extra 3 minutes... Oh, I know, I'll waste that time by writing on dawlish.com... :-)

For the vast majority, the Easter holidays ended last Monday.  There will be few ending their Easter holidays this coming Sunday. Still, it gives something else for Clive to complain about in his one-man quest to get the railway line to bypass our town.

I'm afraid it doesn't. However there are plenty of great little cafés in town and in the Warren.

Thank goodness for that!!!! This NIGHTMARE will finally be over and I'll get the missing 3 minutes of my life back!!! (Over-dramatic use of exclamation marks and capitals, deliberate)...

Hardly crippling, goodness me. It will go on for as long as is needed to ensure the safety of all concerned whilst the repairs to the seawall continue. And it's not even "every single train" anyway.

The weather forecast for today was terrible, so it was great to see the forecaster proven so spectacularly wrong. Andysport - are you joining the bullying brigade as well?  More money than sense, clearly...
