Three areas in Devon, Dartmouth , Torquay and Teignmouth all saw reductions in house prices. Despite these house price reductions, other areas in Devon such as Dawlish and Salcombe are thriving with increases of up to £20k on homes. Dawlish had the highest increase of 7% while Salcombe had a 4.4% rise.

FIVE newly-hatched cygnets were the subject of a rescue mission on the Brook in Dawlish. The days old cygnets had become trapped on the lower weir and were unable to scramble to safety. A famous family of swans in a Devon seaside town have welcomed their newest brood of adorable cygnets. A SEAL pup found washed up on a Dawlish beach is doing well, rescuers have confirmed. The small seal was found. Stressed and underweight, at Coryton Beach 10 days ago. After being assessed by a vet, it was safely transported off the beach and taken to the Cornwall Seal Sanctuary where it received care, food and a much-needed rest. Read more... ...

A FORMER Wren girl celebrated her 100th birthday this week. Audrey Wilson, who lives in Dawlish, received her birthday message from the King and the Queen Consort on Febraury 17. A "first class" Devon postmaster is celebrating after reaching an incredible milestone. Roger Honey has officially been at the helm of Exeter Road Post Office in Dawlish for 50 years.
