HALDON Trail Runners chair Anthea Board won her age category in a race for the third week in a row on Sunday. A DAWLISH hair salon owner has raised more than £1,000 for an animal rehoming charity. Chrissy Marks of Signature Hair and Beauty raised £1,281 for Saving Pound Dogs Cyprus (SPDC). Throughout December, Chrissy raised money from selling wares at Christmas markets, as well as donations made by her customers. Read more... ...

Resilience work on the cliffs between Dawlish and Holcombe to help protect the vital South West main line rail link has now been successfully completed. Work on the cliff resilience scheme began in July 2023 and saw Network Rail install a series of protection measures to catch any loose material and stop it from falling onto the railway below. A man has been sentenced following a violent attack at a charity fundraiser that left a victim needing life-changing surgery. Dawlish College is ‘delighted’ to have retained its Ofsted ‘Good’ rating following an inspection at the end of November. Inspectors visited Dawlish College on November 26 and 27 and judged that the school had ‘taken effective action to maintain the standards identified in the previous inspection’. Read more... ...

A project costing nearly £40m to help protect a coastal railway line in Devon has been completed. The work between Dawlish and Holcombe began in July 2023 and saw Network Rail install protection measures to catch any loose material. A COUPLE who ran a taxi firm in Dawlish have been named by Teignbridge Council after having been stripped of their licences. Michael Miller and Grace Miller, who jointly operated the cab firm Grab A Cab, had their licences, one as the proprietor and of a Hackney Carriage driver, removed after a series of complaints.
