Success. Thankyou TDC. I appealed the parking ticket and as a sign of good will they have agreed to waive the charge. So if you know of anyone else who's had a similar experience advise them to appeal on the grounds that the parking policy is confusing. Happy Xmas everyone.
Everyone can relax. The Lidwell chapel spooks are not on the loose. I've just had confirmation back also from Teignbridge rangers that it is most likely a wood pigeon caught by a female Sparrowhaw. To quote: "I think I can reassure you a little in that what it looks very much to me is a Woodpigeon caught and eaten by a bird of prey – quite likely a female Sparrowhawk (which are larger than the ...
Apologies in advance for the gruesome nature of the attached photo. My daughter took it whilst out walking our dogs last month. It is a picture of a large bird laid out on a tree stump on Ideford Common - we're not sure if it's a real act of nature or some sort of sacrifice. A couple of weeks earlier we had met some TDC refuse employees on the Common who were looking for a skinned animal remains. ...

This is how Herald Express announced it. Whilst there are references to "car parks" in the article the scheme is always referred to as "free Sunday parking" or similar not "free Sunday car parks" so anyone reading the article quickly or just skimming could easily be confused by the headline. Obviously it will teach me to read more carefully!! Towns join free Sunday parking initiative By ...
Thanks for all the interest. I thought it might have just been me who was confused but I did write to one of the local councillors who replied "Like you, I would have assumed that all parking was free on Sundays and would have made the same mistake". So despite what others may say it is obviously confusing even for councillors who are responsible for endorsing the policy.
People of Dawlish arise and take a stand against the iniquitous council bureaucracy! We went into town early today to enjoy the Christmas Market (splendid) and returned to our car to find we'd been given a parking ticket. We'd parked in Brunswick Place, believing that Teignbridge's "Free Sunday Parking" policy was in place - but it wasn't. I checked on the web-site later to find that the policy ...
They went with songs to the battle, they were young. Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
@Lynne . thanks lynne. that seems a more sensible figure. the social housing issue remains a problem though and i wonder how they are going to reconcile that. i also saw somewhere that the tdc core strategy is now not going to be revealed but is being held back for some reason - i think i saw it in the on-line teignmouth & dawlish gazette.
Absolutely agree with the need for new housing and especially for social housing which is less in Teignbridge than elsewhere in the county. But this has to match population growth which I assume the lower figures being considered in the plan for Dawlish now reflects. I haven't seen any document with "less homes being considered" - has something been published? If so where?
