A LANDLORD who evicted his tenant and dumped their furniture on the pavement has been fined for littering. Nolan Foley repossessed the house in West Cliff Road, Dawlish, and moved items including a sofa, cushions, drawers and white goods outside hoping the former tenant would retrieve them.

VISITORS to Dawlish are being asked to keep their distance as a new brood of black swans are hatching. One of the eggs, which was laid by the old Post Office site, has hatched but it is unclear whether a second egg will now hatch.

ENGINEERS were due to attend Dawlish station today following issues with the new lifts. Network Rail says there is a fault with the lifts which needs to be repaired. But there have been numerous sitings of a rough sleeper using the lift overnight.

AFTER four years, the minor injuries unit at Dawlish Hospital has finally re-opened today. NHS bosses confirmed the opening a few weeks ago and now the unit is open to patients. It will be open from Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm on an appointment basis.
