I believe that the true Cornish pasty was divided into two - one half meat/veg and the other half jam. Does the new VAT rule apply to both parts?

@Lynne

Thanks Brazilnut. What do others think?

I see that this debacle is now being referred to as "Pastygate" in the national media! I wonder if there'll be a film and who'll play the equivalent roles of Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford?

After one of the warmest Marches in recent history it's salutary to look back to March 1891 when there was snow for almost the whole month - still 2-3 ft left on 29th March along Shepherds Lane (between Teignmouth and Bishops). Global warming or just normal climate fluctuation?

@Tracy 2nd question - they say the pen is mightier than the sword. Thankfully not a bomb - have there been any theories yet about why it was there? April fools hoax?

That might also explain the ambulance and two ambulance cars with lights flashing I saw heading towards Dawlish along the Teignmouth Road at about 5pm today.

No sign of Earth Hour in Dawlish so sorry Dawlish but went to TAAG centre in Teignmouth instead. Yes a little tokensim I agree but a little red wine and a fine blues band by lantern light made for a great evening.

45 MINUTES TO GO!! Dutch astronaut André Kuipers will keep watch over the planet from the space station's orbital perch 240 miles (386 kilometers) above the Earth's surface, according to officials at the European Space Agency (ESA).

Good news. Exactly the sort of thing these expensive resources should be used for.
