Err....... Every town centre throughout the country needs investment in order to ensure people spend their hard-earned money in them. Dawlish isnt dying, it’s only the people in it who moan about progress that are. Majorp, the way you talk with your ill-founded allegations of malfeasance, anyone would think that the town centre was a mile long! It’s just a short and pleasant stroll from one ...
Tesco didn’t get their way - but Sainsbury did. And didn’t that cause an almighty uproar from the usual people foretelling the death of Dawlish? Talking of Sandy Lane, the same could be said of the wonderful Red Rock Centre when that was proposed. All sorts of unfounded allegations and slurs were being flung around. Again, all proven to be utter hogwash.
That’s not an ulterior motive - that’s one of the very overt motives for its location. To make it easily accessible for increasing footfall for all town centre businesses. Nobody has ever denied that.
Maybe it’s sufficient to have a playpark that will keep families in Dawlish town centre, rather than have to travel from Dawlish to Teignmouth? This scenario is far more common than a lot of vocal senior citizens or childless people might realise.
I completely agree with Lynne’s posts here. Dawlish Countryside Park is a fantastic amenity that has rightly proven to be really popular with loads of locals. As is often the case in Dawlish, when this location was first mooted, the usual negative voices were loud with their criticisms and doom-mongering, but they have yet again been proven wrong. Well done and thanks to all concerned with making ...
David Force used to be the chairman of the Chamber of Trade. What ulterior motive could there be?
This has been posted by David Force on Facebook: PLAYPARK FOR DAWLISH The newspaper reports, the Facebook posts and the petition against the proposed playpark for Dawlish have been very misleading. The area for the park will cover less than half of the top Lawn (behind the bandstand) and will be properly landscaped with seating and picnic tables. It is designed for younger children ...
DEEDOODLE 15 Sep 2017 10:24 . This site is for all to express their opinions, not to be persecuted for them. 3 Agrees As you say, maybe it’s one rule for one and one rule for everyone else...
Sorry but you’re wrong. I was merely trying to provoke a sensible answer to what I thought was a sensible question. I’m happy to be corrected and for the intended context to be explained to me, but that’s up to you of course.
What do you mean by “what was actually being formulated”? The plans are open for all to see, and either be in favour of or against.
