This has been true since forever. No one is saying otherwise. What is being debated are the unsubstantiated claims of those who have an anti-immigration agenda.

Do houses not normally sell if there are other houses around them? Of course they do. Maybe the homeowners just want to move to one of the new developments, away from the main road with all that traffic noise? Chippy Chaps or La Cantina in the Warren by a mile (not either of the other two whatever you do!). Chip Ahoy on Queen Street is the only consistently good one in Dawlish these days. Kenny's at Starcross is not worth bothering with.

The Rockpool Café fire was also arson. Probably lit by the same person that attacked the replacement Love At First Bite café the night before the Airshow.

It's not that they get quietly dropped, it's that no medical practices take up the opportunity, for whatever reason (presumably due to a perceived lack of demand felt by the practitioners?). A prime example is the new Buntings development - the workspace was built there, but hasn't been taken up.

Whilst Merlin is/was undoubtedly connected to the food trade, they've nothing to do with Duck Aller Farm. That photo you've seen isn't Merlins profile photo, it's a photo posted by the webmaster into the Notices section of this website.

I can only assume that the webmaster deleted it because I posted a photo of the offending letter. Clearly he's scared witless about copyright infringements, so why he didn't just delete the photo - well, who knows?

Hi MRB, I'm glad that you've reflected upon your original thoughts and that you now agree that  work does need doing.  You're right that it's pointless doing it whilst it's still so wet, but my god it looks a mess and gives a far worse impression of Dawlish than a lack of umbrella shops does.

Dawlish "Ragatta"? Not the most auspicious of starts, but I'm sure that it'll be a hugely welcomed alternative to the Rowlands Carnival. And yes, I'll be offering my services as a volunteer. Because, unlike the Rowlands Carnival, these people are actively encouraging offers of help.

Prices have come down at Sainsburys since the roadside sign disappeared. They still have the large sign in place there on the Car Park side (and is visible from the road).

It's been closed on the two most recent occasions that I've walked along the seawall. Just now in the glorious sunshine (as per the weather forecast) and before then on the opening day of the seawall when there was (like today) also crowds of people walking to and from the warren.

I'm not going to argue about the rights and wrongs of the application per se, other than to say in response to some of the neighbouring objectors that the land was always earmarked for development and this was known when the original houses there ...
