Just a casual query, on all new homes when being built should they now include an outside power point for electric/dual fuel cars to be plugged into as I have read that the average cost of having one of these installed is £1400 before any grant if available is given.
@ Neo Some of the looks given by people especially parents with youngsters on the beach reminds me of the saying "if looks could kill". I know they are only looking out for the wellfare of their children and have more than likely encountered dog mess left where it shouldn't before. In a perfect world I agree there shouldn't be a need for dog wardens or any other type of wardens like ...
There use to be 2 dog wardens for teignbridge but agaian due to cut backs only 1 now, also one of those wardens was happy to work flexi hours ie. early mornings and early evenings patrolling known problem areas but that was stopped and the one left now only works 8:00am to 4:00pm who has to cover all of teignbridge district ! I know that is no excusse for lazy dirty dog walkers but those who are ...
Many years back we had to pass the cycle proficiency test before being allowed to cycle to school, cyclist today need to be educated more before riding on our ever increasing busy roads. Maybe cyclist should be fined for not using the cycle paths and where they shouldn't be riding. If they have no ID on them as to avoid paying then have the bikes confiscated so forcing them to pay on collecting ...
As the topic seems to be going off towards cycles I might as well add while walking along the sea wall towards coryton cove yesterday pushing my wife in her wheelchair we had 3 cyclists riding forcing us to stop so not as to be hit by any of them. When telling them that they are not meant to be riding we got 2 fingers and a sortment of language I'd rather my 7yr old granddaughter didn't need to ...
@MV yes I beleive they will be there this year but as of this moment I do not know when they are allowed to operate from and till.
Another failure of TDC is although planning has been passed for a new cafe at coryton cove it has been deferred for yet another year before any work commences. As some have sugested in the previous posts Dawlish and the Warren are second class at the best of times compared to Teignmouth when spending for tourism and residents.
What a "surprise" to read that the DWP has been paid almost £140 million in bonuses over the last 3years with most of this going to senior civil servants ! guess the cut backs don't include the rule makers.
I worked with some of the largest house builders across the country and around the world, when outline planning is granted they have to make provisions for around 10% to be built as social/affordable homes. However in alot of cases they site that it is not financially viable to build and continue with the suply of homes for the private sector, I have seen on one site that they where then fined ...
A friend of mine is a motorcycle instructor and on this point he says when teaching look at a roundabout like a 12hr clock, any turn off between 12 and 6 you would normaly use the right hand land and from 6 to 12 the left unless lanes are marked other wise.
