Trouble is, the forum is being used like a mobile phone text service. It takes so long to decipher the messages now it all seems pointless and I can't be bothered to read messages in this format. The alphabet is only half as long as it used to be!!

To David Fortet. Have you tried 'Rails along the Sea Wall' also by Peter Kay (I think).They used to sell this book at Paignton Station (Steam terminal). At the back of this soft back book it also mentions a more comprehensive hard back book that was to be published in the early nineties.I have not been able to locate a copy of this book however.

It would be good if the old contributors on this forum ie Mindful,Blondie,Alex,Solarpanel(sorry!zoom) and Stumpy all started to contribute regularly again in the New Year. Its all a bit dead at the moment.

Strand traffic. Still allow one way vehicles through, but eliminate all parking on the road side, which is crazy. Widen the pavement accordingly, to narrow the road, whilst still allowing lorries to off load on the 'widened pavement'. Simple. Surely that wouldn't be too expensive.

Not sure there is one. If you've ever watched TV's Rogue Traders then you'll probably never get any work done by a builder.Mind you, they call themselves Property Renovators or Property Maintenance now.Not plain builders.(Even the most basic jobs now have a posh title to accompany it). Best way is to ask others who have had work done and are happy with it.Ask the company if they have any letters ...
