So going back to my previous post on the subject of catering - Lynne you now have the information you wanted.  To what purpose exactly?  What was the point?  Does it change anything about the weekend or the arrangements for the weekend?  Does it make any difference whatsoever?  I still don't get the point?! And please don't answer it with a blah blah tax payers money, blah blah whatever.  ...

Ok, sorry to be a bit thick here, but say you get this information, it is highly unlikely that you will get it any time soon and it will probably be long after the event is over.  So what exactly are you going to then do with that information?  There seems to be a bit of an obsession with the food stands at the event. If it is the BBC who are answering the questions then surely it is the BBC ...

If you can't stop on the main road, what's to stop you driving down a side street and stopping there to pick up or drop off?  You'd have to liaise by phone to make it a quick thing I expect but surely that would be possible, even if it meant picking up somewhere in Starcross.  Little bit of a walk wouldn't hurt!

Well you never know, this might be a crafty plan to make sure the whole area is awash with traffic wardens (or whatever they are called these days) who will ticket as many wrongly parked vehicles as they can, which will end up making the council a HUGE profit on their investment of £100,000 So then will the profit be seen as a good thing or a bad thing!?

In fairness to the media and Radio 1 if they advertised it as Teignbridge then far fewer people would know where that was compared to advertising it as Exeter. As as for the free tickets, I wonder how many councillors used freebie tickets from the MUSE concert in Teignmouth in 2009. I do agree they shouldn't be given them for this though. In fact unless they are at an event as a direct ...

Margaretswift55, there was no barbed comment in what I wrote and certainly none aimed at anyone in particular.  It was a general comment about the subject and posts on this site from all sides.  I am surprised you took it as being aimed at your personally, if I had wanted or aimed to do that then I would have been open and said so.  I didn't say so, because that was not the intention.  I also, to ...

My opinion, for what it's worth, yes it is a lot of money BUT every single person I've spoken to about it since the tickets went on sale has been excited and positive about it. I was at the leisure centre the morning the tickets were available and it was the hot topic of discussion from others in the changing rooms. Personally I'm not going, done my share of open air concerts, prefer indoor ones ...

I travelled on it to and from Torquay last night and was very impressed with how well the traffic lights at the Torquay end work to feed the traffic through and going over the top of Penn Inn was great.  The whole thing ran very smoothly and it was a much quicker journey than the old route.  A huge well done to all the civil engineers and construction workers for a job well done and delivered ...

Don't forget about the large stones that get thrown around in waves that could hit anyone or anything in its way.  I remember seeing one of those photos in that shop in Park Road, Dawlish Blue I think it was called, that showed a large wave breaking over the station. The size of the rocks being thrown up in it were huge!!
