Police are investigating a large fire that broke out in Devon which saw one person treated for smoke inhalation last night. Fire crews from Dawlish, Teignmouth and Torquay were mobilised to reports of a fire involving a BT telephone pole in the above location. On arrival, crews confirmed a fire caused by a lightning strike that had set fire to a telephone box. The future of Britain’s most famous black swans is under threat after a string of dog attacks left just one breeding pair. There are now only four remaining adult swans but because they mate for life it is difficult to pair the two males whose female partners have been killed by dogs. Plans have been announced to move the rail line at Dawlish out into the sea as part of plans to tackle major issues the Plymouth to Exeter line has suffered in the past.
