The car park there was full today at 10am and 1pm when I drove past. Together with those that walked there, it looks like there was a great turnout for the official opening.

@Lynne - short memory there as you where the one that brought the illegal occupancy of the said properties to light. as for proving it, as it was done behind closed doors you would have to get hold of tdcs accounts and i doubt even the inland revenue would be able to make sense of them

Okay .....so.....aren't all TDC car parks off road? What does Section 55 etc etc say as to how such revenues should be spent?
Paid for with dirty money recieved from a major housing developer in exchange for a get out clause to avoid building affordable houses and provide additional infrastructure, and to avoid the original planing clause restricting occupancy of the new propertes until stuitable SANGS was in place. Wasnt the figure about £4,000 per house paid directly to the corrupt district council.
Lynne, I thought plod may have come in here, but I was wrong. However:- The income from on-street charging and any penalty charge payments received (whether for on-street or off-street enforcement) must only be used in accordance with section 55 (as amended) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
A couple of questions. Is the revenue gained from Teignbridge owned car parks ring fenced for use on TDC car parks or can it be spent anyway TDC likes? How much does it cost TDC each year to maintain its car parks and from where does the required money come?
Seems there could be more to this with regard to Sunday parking charges. It has now become clear that TDC have decided to call a halt to the Sunday car boot sales at the cattle market car park in Newton Abbot.
