FISHING wire has had to be removed from another of the Dawlish Black Swans. The incident has again highlighted the dangers to the town’s waterfowl of fishing in the Brook. Town councillor Scott Williams was one of the rescuers who managed to remove the line.

Devon County Council is to revisit proposals to raise parking charges after a group of councillors raise concerns that the increased fees would annihilate local traders. Dawlish councillor Rosie Dawson led a ‘call in’ of the decision, made last month, to increase Devon County Council on-street parking fees.

E-BIKES are continuing to cause trouble for residents in Dawlish with complaints of riders using them dangerously. Police have said they will be cracking down following reports of intimidation and anti-social behaviour involving the bikes.

A flashing light seen on the River Teign last night (Wednesday October 1) resulted in a call out for the volunteer crew from Teignmouth Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI). The crew from Teignmouth Lifeboat Station quickly launched and worked with mobile teams from Dawlish Coastguard on the shoreline.

PLANS to demolish a derelict Dawlish manor house and build homes in its place have been rejected by planners. Submitted to Teignbridge District Council (TDC) by Hannon Homes Ltd, 25/00991/FUL sought permission to demolish Fairfield House, which was ravaged by fire in 2018 following an arson attack, and build three, two-storey homes.
