how accurate are the tests? you coukd be tested and be clear and the next day on your way to work, shops or walk be infected. having such a small proportion of the population tested at any one moment in time is like a dog trying to catch its tail. also to allow thousands of people to fly into our country, an island, and expect them to self isolate for 14 days! smell the ...

Hi Huw, that's good news.  Family member was tested today after contact from the doctor this morning.  48 hours for results hopefully - that's significantly better than I was hoping for.

Unprecedented is not a useful way to describe the current situation. It is merely unfamiliar to us because we are the first generation in England which has no memory of suffering a pandemic. Previous generations lived with this lottery of death whereas we have come to expect modern medicine to overcome new outbreaks of infectious diseases. Read more... ...

60 hours from test to result for me. I think that's brilliant! You always get whingers...it's in their personality! When this is all over you want to be proud of what you did and negativity is not going to do that.

It's not a case of going for a test if you feel you are sick, testing the population is a way of finding out who has the virus and those that may have had it or if anyone is asymptomatic. My wife and I went online to make an appt and we went last Friday, we had a reply by email on Tuesday that we are clear. And can go to work if we want to.  The testing site is at the park and ride in Exeter.

"Terrifying"? If she has had no results after 10 days and she still feels ok it would suggest that she has not got it.

A leading doctor has said the decision to ease lockdown restrictions without proper testing was "terrifying". Rosie Toom is a self-employed foot practitioner from Dawlish in Devon who was first tested on 3 May after developing symptoms. More than 10 days later she's still waiting for the results.
