THERE are several police surgeries coming up throughout the month of May. First up, police will be present at Dawlish Lawn on Saturday, May 3 from 2pm until 4pm. Then on Saturday, May 10, officers will be on hand at Haldon Forest.
CONSTRUCTION work has started on the Lawn in Dawlish for South West Water’s multi-million pound scheme to improve water quality. Barriers have gone up across much of the green space in the centre of the town as plant equipment has moved in.

AN outhouse fire in Dawlish is believed to have been started deliberately, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service have said. The building was left ‘100% damaged’ by the fire. Two fire engines, one from Dawlish and the other from Teignmouth, attended Thursday’s incident [April 17].

WHAT a weekend of rugby awaits us at Teignmouth Rugby Club this weekend. Two years ago, Dawlish members from the club laid down the challenge to their Teignmouth-based teammates. Current and ex-players from each town would take part in the Parson and Clerk Challenge for the Coronation Cup.
POLICE are urging the public to get their phones out if they see incidents of violence or anti-social behaviour in Teignmouth and Dawlish. The appeal comes after two incidents of assaults featuring young people.
