Town Centre Accident
10 Jul 2013

That will be a waste of time as people will still cross the road. Putting up signs does not work because we are a nanny state and peoples common sense has since long gone.

More care = Use the crossing which is just a few metres along. It's all about educating people to use the crossing. As I have said previously, you wouldn't walk over a cliff top because there wasn't a fence there to stop you doing it. Same as walking along the sea wall. Common sense tells you not to do it.

I hope the woman is ok but the driver in his mid 80's, should NOT be allowed to drive at that age.

@Lynne What happened to COMMON SENSE? There is a propper CROSSING by the place. Would YOU purposly walk over a cliff top because there wasn't a fence there? Lack of Common sense and decent parenting, along with the Sue Sue Sue society which we have inherited from the USA has ruined this country.

I see they are doing a special. Cod, Chips and a flaming Sambuca. LOL.

The Pirates Chest

@stephen15 Hi Stephen. The location. My personal preference is that I dont fancy sitting there with all the trains going by making a noise, and having loads of people walking by all the time. At least with the Rock Pool Café, it is a more 'open' area and quieter, plus you can still see the trains go by if wanted. I hope this answers your question. Enjoy your sunny Sunday.

I think that I would prefer to use the Rock Pool Café. Just my opinion.

In addition to what @wriggler above said, I had a look in Sainsburys a few days ago and purchased a pack of Jam Doughnuts. There were Five doughnuts in the bag which cost me the princely sum of 65p. Now, call me disloyal to local shops, but why should I go to a bakers in the Strand to buy a jam doughnut for 65p EACH when I can buy a pack of 5 for the same price and which the kids enjoy ...

Good luck to all concerned. I sincerely hope that it is a success.
