E-BIKES are continuing to cause trouble for residents in Dawlish with complaints of riders using them dangerously. Police have said they will be cracking down following reports of intimidation and anti-social behaviour involving the bikes.

A flashing light seen on the River Teign last night (Wednesday October 1) resulted in a call out for the volunteer crew from Teignmouth Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI). The crew from Teignmouth Lifeboat Station quickly launched and worked with mobile teams from Dawlish Coastguard on the shoreline.

PLANS to demolish a derelict Dawlish manor house and build homes in its place have been rejected by planners. Submitted to Teignbridge District Council (TDC) by Hannon Homes Ltd, 25/00991/FUL sought permission to demolish Fairfield House, which was ravaged by fire in 2018 following an arson attack, and build three, two-storey homes.

HEALTH bosses have announced Dawlish Hospital’s Minor Injuries Unit will be closed again. This time the unit, which reopened last year, will be shut until the end of this week. There have been fears for the survival of any eggs laid as the breeding pair Bert and Kimba have made the makeshift nest on a small, low lying island in the the Brook.
