Each year this event attracts over 80,000 people to watch an array of aircraft take to the sky at this award winning air show.
It’s quite remarkable to reflect on the displays that have been seen in the skies over our small seaside town. It bears testament to the efforts of the organising committee and helpers.
Front-line military jets such as the Harrier, Tornado and Typhoon have been joined by formation display teams like The Army’s Blue Eagles and dynamic civilian teams like The Blades.
In 2008, Dawlish hosted the Royal Jordanian Falcons and, on a couple of occasions, we’ve been supported by aircraft from the United States Air Force.
Two displays stand out and have elevated the event to cult status among air show fans – the Royal Air Force Role Demonstration in 2008 and the unforgettable sight of the Avro Vulcan flying in formation with the Red Arrows in 2009.
Dawlish Air Show attracts families enjoying their annual holiday in this award-winning resort, local residents and day-trippers from all over the South West.
Our show has gained an international reputation and even won an award from the European Air Show Council. As a result, aviation enthusiasts travel from all over the UK and Europe to sample the Dawlish experience.
