Inertia is nothing to do with the OAPs here - so lets not bust their balls. They just want a quiet life devoid of dog sh*t- - (or full of dog sh*t, depending on their canine preferences). The real issue is that the younger people just don't give a rats ass. This is partially because of idleness, but also because they are not visionary (or intelligent) by nature. Sensible ongoing development ...
I like that idea - that's what they do in New Zealand along roadsides to commemorate deaths in road accidents. Cameras - no. How do you get the camera to register when a sh*t's being done? Its not like a speed camera you know !
Interesting - and lets hope the Mayor will join in the debate here. The big hotels all shut down in Dawlish (and there were some rather good ones). Where can people stay now - just Marine Parade? There should be a strategy of attracting hotel investment, otherwise day-trippers are the sole target. Dawlish has got many innate advantages over neighbouring towns - its far nicer than Teignmouth, ...
