Thanks for your replies. It would seem to me the third party that called me was doing what we call in the States "Bait and Switch" however i suppose i was very naive on coming back to the UK with the cost of living. I truly don't know how people on lower income's survive.  These so called storage heaters don't give out much heat. Brazilnut, is that normal or high i have no idea?  Are those ...

I hope i can get some advice from members on here.... When i moved into this apartment May 2012.. I was solicted by a third party offering to set me up with EDF for Thirty Six pounds per month i thought that was a good tarrif so i went with it. Then in June 2012 i went back to the States in June returning here in September. Set up home with my wife in September. This apartment is all electric. ...

Lynne, I have read the same story in the Telegraph and the Guardian, and doubt some people have read the same story in the Sun or the Daily Mirror. Wherever one gets information does it REALLY matter to the masses where it comes from. The same could be said if it comes from ITV or the BBC. Everybody has the choice of what to read and what to watch for that matter. As far as I'm concerned ...

Going to be Interesting that's for sure. I just don't understand how this and many others are allowed to get away with such abuse of the taxpayers money, but what can a humble British born person do about it, yes i know vote. I'm only allowed to claim a small portion of a UK State Pension and my wife has stamped in her American Passport ( Not entitled to benefits ) that i can understand she being ...

Lynne, as there appears to be so many stories much like this it's possible it may have ran before. But examples such as this really gets my hair up ( what i have left that is ) Can't remember if the age's of the kids were stated. Does one get free child care if you have some sort of job? just asking, I'm still trying to get a handle on the UK benefit system which i find confusing. Do you get ...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2421756/Single-Latvian-mother-34-000-year-benefits-wins-fight-bigger-council-house.html Yes, I know it's from the Daily Fail.... Be Interesting to see your views though.

No, we are not the 51st State of the USA and never have been considered that..... Let me put a hypothetical question to you. In the most unlikely event that any country decided to attack the UK be it ground forces or misisles would you want the US to support us or not? Just give that a little thought.

Just a little about American Politics. The President being Commander in Chief has the power to authorise an attack if he so chooses and doesn't need Congress approval to do so, however he DOES need approval from Congress to declare war. I feel after the Iraq war which was sanctioned by Congress and with thousands of American and allied deaths this attack may not happen and they may try a more ...
