To put this in context it was a response to a poster who reckoned to be able to buy better in Teighnmouth for many items - including cards. Emotions (I reckon) in Dawlish is probably as good as you'll find in the West Country, and good for them!

They've worked hard to clean the place up, and good luck to them. It's nice to be able to stand for a couple of minutes on the carpet without getting glued to the floor.

A small and insignificant question for Mr. Viaduct, which is why do you put an apostrophe in Sainsburys? There must be a point, but please make clear as already struggling to grasp some of this petty (and extremely dull) e-mail rivalry. Nice to see you contributing to this forum Mr Connett. Are you able to enlighten us as to the current position in Sandy Lane?

And how else could these poor Council workers justify their existance and inflated salaries except by creating ill informed and endless correspondancies? Really, they have to do something to keep themselves awake...

The yellow lines are still in a parlous state, so can only imagine they're trying it on for the benefit of some of our Easter tourists who will know no better. And for that matter should really know better than park on the double yellows in a strange town. (very strange).

The council don't seem to be too concerned about possible illegality of their markings; there's another three ticketed cars this afternoon!

I've checked out the market the last three months, but although I commend the bravery of the traders for standing in the freezing weather, there's not been anything I want to buy. Most of the problem is that it's no longer a farmers market, and half of the stalls no longer sell food. Get a better balance (like the reinstated Teignmouth market) and I'm sure the punters will be there, including me. ...

The local paper tells us the delay is the fault of Tesco's who are attempting legal manoevering to thwart the Sainsbury's build. Wish they'd shut up and let us have our supermarket. Thanks a bunch Tesco! Bardwell
